The TCA, Inc. Blog

I’m not sure why these (other) associations enjoy destroying breeds, if they wish to create a new breed, that is fine create the new breed but don’t destroy the parent (original) breed used to make the new breed. A smushed face Persian and a Doll faced Persian are not the same breed. The smushed face is a result of a spontaneous genetic birth defect caused by intense sibling interbreeding. They should be called “smushed longhairs” or something like that because they are not Persians. The Doll faced, Traditional Person is the real Persian.

Creating new breeds is fine, we all agree with that. No one objects to it. Destroying the original breed to create the new breed is disgusting.  DK
